One of my favourite spots at the moment for this meal is Warm & Glad (W&G). It’s actually my favourite spot at the moment full stop. The simplicity of Warm & Glad’s menu is taken to excellent levels. The general breakfast idea is creamy soft scrambled eggs on bolo de caco (a type of Portuguese Ciabatta) and you add your favourite sides. This is paired perfectly with a deluxe W&G flat white that is always ideally temperate and delicious. No cup of coffee I have tasted here has been burned, a rarity.
I wish more people had raved about this Craighall Cafe, that is constantly buzzing with creative energy. To say that I like this spot is a serious under estimation. I Love Warm & Glad. It is an ideal cafe for a breakfast date because it has such a friendly and comfortable atmosphere that throws off all the week’s tension. The W&G family are genuinely happy and friendly–smiles are never a miss. This is the perfect place to enjoy well-curated foods from the best local producers while enjoying the warmth of the sun streamed windows, any day of the week.
I know that you will enjoy whatever you choose to order! My favourites are scrambled eggs on toast with crispy parma ham and baby tomatoes, or the 1 Slice 1 Slice. For a real treat I would recommend getting good old-fashioned pancakes. While you are there, you can also check out their RAD store’s amazing collection of exotic books.
