I was quite excited to find some work that I did last year for the Joburg Style Shopping Guide on the Website. My project was an indie/boutique shopping guide for the affluent and up-coming areas of the City of Gold. The whole idea was to visit boutique shopping areas and photograph the best shops and find special presents. I took a whole lot of pictures, giving autonomy to the editors to choose which ones they liked, and they happened used one of my beautiful sister, Shan, in Maboneng (page 22). It is so refreshing to see the finished product. Check out Pages 20-35 in the boutique guide section to see what I did!
Johannesburg’s rock-alternative band Skylight has just released their debut album Made For More, and I had the privilege of asking them a couple of questions about it. Outside Tanz Live on a wooden bench on a warm evening surrounded by the bustle of guests and fans, we sat together eagerly awaiting the launch of their set happening later that evening.

I am so grateful for my Husband, Stephen, who has honestly been too amazing, supportive, encouraging and strong through all our adventures. I look upon 2014 with a hopeful heart of all that is to come. I hope you do too! Happy New Year! See you soon, with some more of Joburg and some Cape Town too.
To commence the Where I Walk campaign around Joburg, I hit the streets of Melville. I wore my coral Chuck Taylors from Converse, to have a bit of vibrancy on my feet to match that of Melvilles. Guided by my friend Janike, a resident of Melville, I walked alongside Jacarandas in the speckles of sunshine that escaped through the flowers. [Read more...]
